Luke 2:25-35
We kick off the advent series by looking at Jesus through the eyes of Simeon, an old Jewish man who exemplified Israel’s eager longing for the promised Deliverer. In his poetic words to Mary and Joseph, we see both the joyful celebration of the Messiah’s advent and a grave prophecy of the earth-shaking change his dawning kingdom would bring.
