As parents, we know that navigating educational choices for our families can feel overwhelming. Many of you are preparing for preschool for the first time or watching the elementary years fly by. Maybe you are on the precipice of middle or high school and feel unsure about what to do now.
To support and encourage your family in this process, we have put together a new resource called the Educational Decisions Primer.
What is it?
This primer is designed to serve as a practical, biblically grounded guide to help your family evaluate educational choices; particularly public, private, or home schooling. The designation “primer” is intentional, underscoring its scope and limitations: it is a starting guide that provides a foundational understanding of a complex topic.
This primer aims to help you begin your decision-making process by:
- Providing a biblical foundation for education and decision-making
- Outlining major education options by highlighting their pros and cons
- Providing contextual resources for each education option
- Anticipating and responding to FAQs
How should I use it?
Set aside some designated time to work through the information. Low-tide moments and scheduled discussions work best for spouses to tackle weighty issues thoughtfully.
Share it within your gospel communities, or with families you know that are thinking through these decisions.
Revisit it as seasons and family needs change.
