Student Ministry Internship Opportunity

Position Summary

The Student Ministry Intern assists in the areas of teaching, discipleship, administration, volunteer care, and special projects while learning how to effectively oversee ministry to middle schoolers, high schoolers, their parents, and volunteers.


Job Responsibilities

  • Teach gospel-centered curriculum to students 6th-12th grade
  • Assist in the recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new Student volunteers 
  • Create healthy relational connections with the students, parents, and leaders
  • Assist in running Sunday and Wednesday programming and events
  • Collaborate on the development of curriculum and discipleship resources for students
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Attend and participate in monthly intern forums 
  • Attend and participate in weekly all-staff, and 1:1 meetings
  • Attend classes and volunteer at Northway Training
  • Other tasks and projects as determined by the Student Minister


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Agree with Northway Church’s Statement of Faith and commit to exhibiting a lifestyle that is consistent with the same
  • Comprehensive understanding of the gospel
  • Faithful covenant membership at Northway Church (or pursuit of membership upon hire)
  • Desire to care for and shepherd God’s people
  • Desire to work with students
  • Previous experience working with students
  • High school diploma required
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Basic proficiency in written communication
  • Basic proficiency in Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Calendar)

Hours per week: 25

Duration: August 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023
